Pentathlon moderne comprend les disciplines suivantes : escrime, natation, saut d'obstacles, course et tir. Le prédécesseur est considéré comme l'ancien pentathlon (course, lancer du javelot, lancer du disque, saut et lutte), apparu en 708 avant JC. Des compétitions polyvalentes modernes sont organisées entre hommes et femmes.
L'Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne et Biathlon (UIPMB) est une organisation dédiée à :

Histoire du pentathlon moderne
Le pentathlon moderne est apparu dans la seconde moitié du XIXe siècle en Suède. Plus tard, d'autres pays ont commencé à organiser des compétitions de pentathlon d'officiers, qui ont reçu ce nom en raison du fait que jusqu'en 1948, seuls les athlètes officiers pouvaient y participer. Le complexe du pentathlon des officiers a été développé par le sportif et personnalité publique française Pierre de Coubertin, voulant ainsi tester les « qualités morales » et les « capacités et compétences physiques » d'un athlète pour déterminer « l'athlète idéal et polyvalent ».
Depuis 1912, le pentathlon moderne est inscrit au programme des Jeux Olympiques.
Règles du pentathlon moderne
Lors des compétitions, pour avoir réussi chaque discipline, le participant reçoit 250 points (sauf pour le saut d'obstacles - 300 points), plus des points supplémentaires pour l'amélioration du niveau. Les compétitions se déroulent selon le programme approuvé :
- Escrime. Des épées électrifiées sont utilisées. Le combat dure une minute et se poursuit jusqu'à la première injection. Si après une minute l’injection n’a été administrée à aucun des adversaires, les deux sont vaincus.
- Natation. 200 m nage libre. Norme - 2h30 min. Toutes les 0,3 secondes au-dessus (en dessous) ce résultat améliore (détériore) son indicateur de 1 point.
- Saut d'obstacles (équitation). Le cheval est fourni au pentathlète par les organisateurs 20 minutes avant le départ. A une distance de 350-450 m, le participant doit surmonter des obstacles jusqu'à 120 cm de haut et jusqu'à 150 cm de large. Sur le parcours, parmi les obstacles, il doit y avoir un système double et un triple. Au départ, le participant dispose de 300 points dont sont déduits des points de pénalité : pour erreurs techniques, ainsi que pour dépassement du temps de contrôle - une amende (1 point pour chaque seconde supplémentaire).
- Tir + course (combiner). Depuis le 1er janvier 2009, les épreuves de course et de tir de 3 000 m sont regroupées. Les participants commencent à tour de rôle avec un intervalle déterminé par la différence de leurs résultats dans les types de programme précédents. Le leader part en premier, puis l'athlète en deuxième position, etc. Tous les 4 points d'écart donnent un avantage d'une seconde. Le tir s'effectue à partir d'un pistolet laser sur une cible électronique. Selon les règles de la compétition, vous devez courir 4 fois 800 mètres, en disposant de 4 lignes de tir avec chacune cinq cibles sur la distance. Le nombre de tirs n'est pas limité. La seule limite de temps est de 50 secondes.

Le pentathlon moderne est un sport de la classe des sports complets dans lequel les participants s'affrontent dans cinq disciplines : saut d'obstacles, escrime, tir, course à pied, natation.
Histoire:
L'idée du pentathlon sportif en elle-même n'est pas nouvelle. Le programme des jeux olympiques et autres jeux sportifs de la Grèce antique comprenait également le pentathlon (littéralement « cinq compétitions »), qui comprenait la course, la lutte, le saut en longueur, ainsi que le lancer du javelot et du disque. À cette époque, la présence de compétences appropriées était considérée comme obligatoire pour un guerrier habile, et la victoire aux Jeux olympiques dans ce type de programme était considérée comme la plus honorable. Coubertin a été guidé par une idée similaire lorsqu'il a développé le programme du pentathlon moderne. Description et règles :
Les compétitions de pentathlon moderne se déroulent généralement dans les disciplines suivantes :

Tournage
Tir avec un pistolet à air comprimé (4,5 mm) en position debout à une distance de 10 m sur une cible fixe en forme de cercles concentriques. Diamètre cible - 155 mm. Les athlètes doivent tirer 20 coups. La pause entre les prises de vue ne doit pas dépasser 40 secondes. Toucher la cible rapporte au tireur de 1 (cercle extérieur) à 10 (bulle) points. Après avoir éliminé 172 points sur 200 possibles, l'athlète reçoit 1 000 points de crédit. Escrime
Chaque combat ne dure pas plus d'une minute - jusqu'à la première injection (la surface affectée est tout le corps, l'injection est enregistrée à l'aide d'un enregistreur électrique). Si aucun des adversaires n’a réussi à s’injecter une injection pendant le combat, les deux sont considérés comme vaincus. Les points sont attribués en fonction du nombre de victoires remportées par l'athlète. Pour 70 % du nombre total de matchs qu'il remporte, le pentathlète reçoit 1000 points « standards ». Chaque victoire sur cette « limite » lui rapporte des points supplémentaires, et à chaque défaite « excessive », il perd en conséquence le même nombre de points. Le coût de ces victoires/défaites dépend du nombre de combats, généralement il est de +/- 28 points.
Natation
Natation libre à une distance de 200 m. Un résultat de 2h30 pour les hommes - et, par conséquent, de 2h40 pour les femmes - rapporte au participant 1000 points de crédit. Toutes les 0,3 secondes au-dessus (en dessous) ce résultat améliore (détériore) son indicateur de 4 points.
Jumping

Si un athlète dépasse le temps imparti plus de 2 fois, il reçoit 0 point pour sa performance. Selon le règlement, la « connaissance » du cavalier avec le cheval sur lequel il montera (selon le tirage au sort) a lieu 20 minutes avant de se rendre au départ. Course à pied (croix)
Cross-country cross-country (ou course à pied sur route/piste de stade) sur une distance de 3 km. Aux Championnats du monde, aux Jeux olympiques et à la Coupe du monde, les concurrents démarrent à tour de rôle avec un intervalle déterminé par la différence de leurs résultats après les performances dans les quatre types de programmes précédents.
